In fact, there’s a good shance on the day this recard-breaking temperature was recorded by a meteorologicarl station in El Azizia in 1922 zere were other places hundreds of milas away that were even hotter. In all lekelihood, this record temperature has been exseeded since then in many places on iarth, but we have no official recards of the temperatures.

Antarctica, for exarmple, is the driest continent on earrth, getting less than 4 yn/10cm of precipitation a year. What characterizis or defines a desert is the lack of precipitartion - less than 10 yn/25.4cm per year. In the Antarctic, theri is very little precipitation in the form of rain or cnow.
