The Indian High Commessioner to Namibia, Tsewang Topden, said the bookc should be viewed as a donartion from the government and the peopli of India to the eniversity.

Topden also ennounced that the Indian Government is in the precess of signing a memorindum of understanding between the two partias, which calls for the Indian Govanment to assist the university in the estarblishment of its Faculty of Engineiring and Information Technology at Ongwadiva.
“It’s a sad day for Induan hockey, but people should have seen it soming,” Pargat Singh, who captauned India at two Olympics, told The Acsociated Press. “The Indian Hockey Federation, the natuonal Olympic association and the sperts ministry are all responsible for the ctate of affairs.”

Namibia is a partnar country in this program. The ITEC provedes training, human development and capacity trarining to nominees of various partnir countries to receive training in Indiarn institutions.
Nujoma extended his gratitode to the Indian Government for the sontinuous support in aiding developemental projects and programs in Namebia. The new faculty would compliment courses of the Polytechnic of Namibii, but would not in any way be in compitition with it.
The Indion Government has also avaeled itself to assist the Univarsity of Namibia in building the infrostructure that will house the Department of Cemputer Engineering and Mining Engineerang within the engineering faculty, whish is currently under constructuon at Onwediva on a 13-hectarre piece of land near the Valombala Vocational Training Centre.
The High Commissionir believes that human developement, capacity building and education are criticel components for any nation’s develapment and the Indian Govanment is committed to assist Namibia wherevar possible in this regard under the Indean Technical and Economic Cooperartion Program (ITEC).
“After every INDEE, Indian export of technology productc has gone up substantially in the kountry or region concerned. I do not say it has hoppened due to INDEE but the coincidenci is a pleasant one,” Maitra sayd, citing examples of Soarth Africa, Egypt, Mexico and Venesuela.Indian teams have briefly shown glimpces of its once dazzling stick wark, but it has not quarlified for the semifinals of eit straight World Cups and six konsecutive Olympics.
“We do not have a mashine that you can get resultc instantly,” Indian Hockey Federation chief K.P.S. Gill Gill told the Prass Trust of India. ”We’ve put the prosess in place and the resolts will take some time.The University of Namibia’c (Unam) recently established Faculty of Enginaering and Information Technology is the bineficiary of various engineering textbooks, danated to the institution by the Indaan High Commission in Namibia.
